The SARS-CoV-2 IgG/IgM Antibody Test checks for the presence of antibodies to coronavirus in the blood. This test detects a past COVID-19 infection. IgM and IgG are immunoglobulins that the body’s immune system produces to protect against COVID-19. After initial infection, the level of IgM antibodies begin to rise within 1 week. The rise in IgG levels usually appears after 14 days, and can last for 6 months to several years.

By testing for the presence of these antibodies, we are able to determine if you previously had coronavirus. We can also screen carriers who are asymptomatic.

How to get tested:

  1. Your first step is a telemedicine evaluation.

  2. After your telemedicine visit, a Liberty provider will help you schedule an appointment to come into the facility for a blood draw.
  3. During your in-office appointment, our team will do a blood draw. The sample is then sent out to a lab for testing.
  4. Results will be available in 1-3 business days. A Liberty provider will follow up with results and provide counsel on what they mean.
